About Us



Taylor Consulting Services, LLC is a small, female-owned, minority-owned, consulting agency that is MBE, EDGE and DBE certified. Located in Hartville, Ohio, the agency was established in September 2003 by founder Alycia Taylor. Alycia Taylor, President, holds a Master of Public Administration degree, a Mediation certificate, and a Green Belt in Six Sigma. Taylor Consulting Services, LLC has over 40 years of experience working with schools, nonprofit agencies, and businesses providing resources and technical assistance. Our goal is to create high-performing environments where individuals flourish, are empowered and engaged, thereby eliminating barriers to success for all stakeholders. Our aim is to provide high quality professional development, provide data-driven reports for real-time continuous improvement, and provide strategies to foster change and success. Ultimately, Taylor Consulting Services, LLC focuses on creating sustainable solutions in order to foster growth in the surrounding communities.

Since our beginning, we have provided compliance reviews, grant evaluations, grant writing, training, curriculum development, data collection, analysis, coaching, technical assistance and consultative services to our past and recent clients. Our experience comes from working with such clients that include the following: The Ohio Department of Education’s Office of Early Learning and School Readiness, The Ohio Department of Higher Education, Ashland University’s Department of Professional Development, Akron Public Schools, Hope Academy, Steam Academy of Warrensville Heights, International Soap Box Derby, The Presidents’ Council Foundation, Buckeye School Association for Administrators, and Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop, to name a few.

At TCS, we practice lean techniques and our work with the University of Akron and Ashland University enables us to quickly recruit highly qualified support personnel as needed. For example, to help ensure the best consulting solutions and results for our clientele, our organization utilizes the collective talents of a pool of dedicated, innovative, and seasoned subcontractors who possess expertise in such vast subject areas as public administration, nonprofit management, organizational management, mental health, behavior therapy, curriculum design, school improvement, training & facilitation, finance/auditing, management, research and data collection as well as education from K-16, and more.

Experience More than 85% of our employees and subcontractors have advanced graduate degrees.  They have over 30/40 years of experience in areas such as public administration, nonprofit management, organizational management, mental health, behavior therapy, curriculum design, school improvement, training & facilitation, and more.
Outcomes We have substantial experience in the federal grant process—reviewing over 2500 federal grant applications so far.  Also, according to research the average cost of fundraising from foundations/corporations is .20% per dollar raised.  Our average is significantly lower at .08% per dollar.

    Alycia Taylor is a consultant, educator, and mentor.  Her professional experience incorporates more than eighteen years of expertise in program management, staff development, funds development, character building, social and emotional learning, and school climate.  She specializes in the efficiency and organizational development of public and private entities.  She has developed classes and workshops on student/teacher engagement, stress management, leadership development, remedial education, and grant writing for the University of Akron, Ashland University and several nonprofit organizations.  She has trained hundreds of individuals and has worked with school districts, mental health organizations, and nonprofit agencies.  Recognized as a subject matter expert on fund development, she has presented at various venues as the keynote speaker.  Additionally, she was recently selected to participate in Lean Ohio’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) pilot program.  The aim of that program is to strengthen the connection between small businesses and state government while spending one year assisting with Lean Six Sigma projects, events, and meetings involving state government agencies. Alycia holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Fund Development from The University of Akron.  She has a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from LeanOhio.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from Taylor University, and she has a Mediation Certificate from the University of Akron.
